Fire damages the Long Branch in Weston

WESTON — A fire Sunday, Sept. 5, damaged the iconic Long Branch Cafe & Saloon in Weston.

East Umatilla Fire and Rescue reported receiving the call to respond to the restaurant and bar on Main Street in historical downtown Weston at 4:50 p.m.

One person was in the building, the fire district reported, but escape safely as firefighters arrived.

East Umatilla sent an engine, a ladder truck, ambulance and more along with 11 firefighters. The Milton-Freewater Rural Fire Protection District responded as well with five firefighters and provided mutual support with an engine and a command vehicle.

East Umatilla also reported the cause of the fire remains unknown.
