UMATILLA COUNTY — A Jeep convoy recognizing the service of the late Jason Post of Umatilla County Parole and Probation will take place Saturday, Aug. 21.
The Jeepers Back the Blue Foundation has identified the Post family as one of its beneficiaries. The foundation raises money for the families of fallen or seriously injured law enforcement officers and for scholarships for their children.
Post, who began his career in 2010 as a reserve officer for the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, died as the result of a June 5 rafting accident in Wallowa County. He left behind his wife, Rosanna, and young daughter, Dalilah, who will turn 1 in September.
The convoy will gather at the Stafford Hansell Government Center, 915 S.E. Columbia Drive in Hermiston. It will depart from there at noon and travel to the Pendleton Convention Center, 1601 Westgate. A short ceremony and check presentation to the Post family is set for 1 p.m.
