Oregon crash leaves Walla Walla driver with minor injuries

PENDLETON — A Walla Walla, Washington, driver had minor injuries after an early morning collision on Monday, Aug. 31.
Dirk C. Johnson, 36, reportedly fell asleep at about 5:15 a.m., while driving a Toyota Highlander on the Cabbage Hill stretch of Interstate 84 at the Deadman Pass exit between Pendleton and La Grande, according to Oregon State Police.
Johnson’s vehicle hit a highway guardrail and the concrete median barrier.
He received minor injuries, the report said. No ambulance transport was noted in the crash report.
