Umatilla County confirms three new COVID-19 cases, two people now hospitalized

UMATILLA COUNTY — Three more cases of COVID-19 were identified and another individual was hospitalized in Umatilla County Wednesday, bringing its case total to 87, according to a press release.
There are now two active hospitalizations, the release stated, and the other two new cases are self-isolating at home. One of the new cases has been identified as a close contact of a previously confirmed case.
The county also reported 70 of its cases are now considered recovered, meaning the individual has gone at least 72 hours without symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath and diarrhea. There are 15 cases still considered active, and two deaths have been reported.
An additional case is still considered presumptive, the release stated, which means that individual hasn’t tested positive for COVID-19 but is displaying symptoms and has been identified as a close contact of confirmed case.
According to the Umatilla County Public Health Department’s website, 1,097 COVID-19 tests have been run in the county as of Wednesday.
