UMATILLA COUNTY — There were no new cases of COVID-19 in Umatilla County identified Tuesday, and the Umatilla County Public Health Department’s updated trend map reflected little change from last week.
Of the county’s 84 cases, Hermiston and Umatilla remain the local hotspot with 26-50 and 16-25 cases respectively. Milton-Freewater was the only change from last week, with the map now indicating 10-15 confirmed cases in the area.
“I don’t think it tells us much new information other than we continue to see an increase of cases throughout the county,” said Alisha Southwick, deputy director of the Umatilla County Public Health Department.
Pendleton is still shown on the map as having between 5-9 confirmed cases of COVID-19, too.
According to the Umatilla County Public Health website, 67 of the 84 cases are now considered recovered, an increase of 11 from Monday, and only one individual is reported as actively hospitalized. Two deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported in the county.
