The city of Echo appreciates the giving spirit of its residents and businesses.

Recent donations reported in July edition of The Echo, the city’s monthly newsletter, included a season of “Frasier” and seven DVDs from Caleb Jacobs and six books from Elsie Middleton, which will be added to the collection at the Echo Public Library. Other donations include $50 from Charlotte Berry for general beautification and America in Bloom, and $500 of $4,000 for public art by Kent and Laura Madison, and an anonymous donation of $20 for National Night Out.

Last month, the city announced donations for the library included $20 by an anonymous giver for the Summer Reading Program, and books from Bonnie Berry (3), Jimmy Dorn (19), Weeb Williams (61), and two DVDs from Caleb Jacobs. Also, donations earmarked for beautification were received from Diane Berry ($200) and Charlotte Berry ($50).

Money received for the beautification program helps with parks and floral displays as well as other beautification projects. The city also expressed appreciation to the Wildhorse Foundation for a $20,000 grant that was used toward the renovation and improvements of the old VFW hall.
