Stand-up comic Paul Rodriguez, rock band Blue Oyster Cult and country superstar Hal Ketchum are among the acts set to take the stage this spring at Wildhorse Resort & Casino.

Tickets are now on sale for a pair of performances featuring Rodriguez. The shows are Saturday, March 24 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Rivers Event Center. People must be at least 21 to attend. A no-host bar will be available. In addition, a pre-function party with free tacos begins an hour before each show in Cayuse Hall.

General seats are $29, premium are $39 and platinum are $49. Club Wild members receive a $10 discount. Also, active military personnel and veterans can receive a 20 percent discount for up to four tickets when purchased at the Wildhorse Gift Shop. Tickets also are available at www.wildhorseresort.com.

Born in Sinaloa, Mexico, Rodriguez’s parents were agriculture ranchers who later migrated to Los Angeles. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Rodriguez initially considered pursuing a career as an attorney. While attending college, he developed an interest in stand-up comedy. Working as a doorman at The Comedy Store on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip, he eventually stepped behind the mic.

Honing the craft of comedy, Rodriguez also appeared in films, was a voiceover artist and participated in several Comic Relief charity specials. In 2004, he was ranked 74th on Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Stand-up Comedians of All Time.”

Rodriguez recently wrote and performed a one-man show, “Just for the Record,” which is available on DVD. In the tell-all theatrical piece, the multifaceted entertainer takes audiences on a journey through his life, including his childhood in Mexico and his family’s move to Compton, California, where he lived during the Watts Riots. Rodriguez shares about his career and the significant relationships and moments that helped shape his life.

Tickets for Blue Oyster Cult and Hal Ketchum go on sale Thursday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. Ticket prices and additional details will be available at a later date.

A pioneer in heavy metal music, Blue Oyster Cult formed in 1972. Known for such hits as “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Godzilla” and “Burnin’ for You,” the band will perform Friday, April 20.

Ketchum’s familiar singles include “Small Town Saturday Night,” “Past the Point of Rescue” and “Hearts Are Gonna Roll.” After a six-year songwriting hiatus, Ketchum released “I’m the Troubadour.” The country music star, who has multiple sclerosis, said the 2014 album rejuvenated his spirit. His show is Saturday, May 26.
