Rebecca and Richard Matthews

Rebecca Suzanne Jepsen and Richard Thomas Matthews were united in marriage on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Spokane, Washington. Pastor Dave Farley officiated. The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Southside Senior Activity Center.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Nancy Jepsen of Heppner. The groom is the son of Pastor Tom and Tami Matthews of Juneau, Alaska. The wedding party included Matron of Honor Amy Schaffeld, sister of the bride, from Enterprise, Oregon. Bridesmaids were college friends Breanna Barnes, Whitefish, Mont., Helene Welch, Woodenville, Wash., Lauren Schultz, Reardan, Wash., and Sarah Leddige, Spokane. The groom was attended by the Best Man, Kris Sperry of Anchorage, Alaska. Groomsmen were Nathan Sperry, Matt Tobin and Sandon Fisher, all from Anchorage, and Sawyer Neiffer, Walla Walla. The flower girl was Hannah Bardwell of Spokane, friend of the bride. The candle lighters were Natalie Jepsen and Thomas Hahn, niece and nephew of the bride and groom respectively.

Music was provided by violinist Eric Jepsen, brother of the bride, and pianist Rebekah Brown.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an A-line ball gown of soft white organza with a beaded and sequined floral lace overlay and a matching fingertip veil. Her bouquet was assorted shades of pink and white Gerbera daisies and yellow sunflowers.

Rebecca is a 2012 graduate of Ione High School and graduated from Whitworth University in 2015. She is currently in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Eastern Washington University. The groom graduated from Liberty University in Lynchberg, Virginia, in 2011 and is a fellow classmate with Rebecca in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at EWU.

Most Popular

Following a honeymoon trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple are living in Spokane and completing their final year of physical therapy internships. They will both graduate in June 2018.
