Priceless regalia stolen in Pendleton

Numerous irreplaceable American Indian regalia and artifacts were stolen this week from a Pendleton storage unit.

According to Pendleton Police, the department was made aware of the theft Wednesday. Items missing from the storage units include beaded buckskin dresses, war shirts, vests, martingales, horse trappings, leggings, beaded purses, moccasins, headbands, chokers and an eagle feather fan.

According to police, most of the items are well over a century old, are of significant cultural and historical value and cannot be replaced or duplicated.

The Pendleton Police Department is asking for assistance in locating the stolen items.
