The Irrigon Knights and Pilot Rock Rockets combined for six all-state baseball selections with the release of the 2A/1A teams this week.

Irrigon, which finished third at the district tournament, was led by second-team selection Austin Rice.

The sophomore southpaw posted a 5-1 record in 13 starts and had two saves. He finished the season with a 1.50 ERA and 112 strikeouts.

Irrigon catcher Cougar Kroske and outfielder Darin Chapman each made the third team.

Kroske, a junior, batted for a .484 average in 75 plate appearances and slugged at a .661 percentage. He committed only three errors behind the dish for a .980 fielding percentage.

Chapman, a senior, also committed just three errors, but on fewer opportunities for a .909 fielding percentage. He batted for a .431 average and posted team highs with 115 plate appearances, 35 hits, nine doubles and 37 runs scored.

Pilot Rock senior Justin Willingham was named to the all-state second team at first base, and seniors Mike Hiatt and Jacob Pierce were both honorable mention at pitcher.

All six players were first-team all-league selections as well.
