•An Irrigon man started his white Dodge Neon car at about 4 a.m. on Columbia Lane, returned to his home and came out to find the car gone. He called the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office about the theft.
•A man at 7:42 a.m. reported the theft of his yellow Champion log splitter from his property on Sunshine Lane, Hermiston.

•A Milton-Freewater woman at 9:32 a.m. told the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office that a stranger has repeatedly called her since last fall of 2014. But Wednesday night, she said, was the first time she answered one of the calls because she did not recognize the number. So she called back to tell him to stop calling, and he called again.
•The Umatilla Police Department at 10 a.m. received a report of domestic abuse and began an investigation.
•A man living on Reinhart Road, Pendleton, arrived home at about 6 p.m. and found the place burglarized. Whoever did it stole a 60-inch TV, a home entertainment system and approximately 30 guns.
•A Heppner resident at 11:34 p.m. reported someone dropped off bumpers at his residence on West Willow View Drive and he was concerned they were stolen.
•A bartender at Mosa, 138 S. Main St., Pendleton asked police at 11:41 p.m. to trespass a man after he assaulted a customer.

•The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jason Tinsley, 32, of Athena, for fourth-degree assault and strangulation.
•The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office captured a fugitive after he tried to run and hide.
The sheriff’s office investigated a recent automobile theft in Heppner, according to a written statement from the sheriff’s office, and deputies tried to contact Josue Montano Pardo, 30, at a residence on Minor Street, Heppner.
During the investigation, deputies found Washington state had felony warrants for Montano, and he bolted from deputies when they tried to talk to him.
“Montano ran up the hill behind Minor Street, crossed Water Street and down the hill and across Morgan Street,” the statement said, and then “diverted into the creek.”
Deputies set up a perimeter and searched for Montano, and about 45 minutes later found him hiding in a shed on Morgan Street. Deputies office cuffed him without further trouble, the statement said, and booked him into the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton for unauthorized use of a vehicle, a felony, four counts of trespassing, misdemeanors, and four felony warrants.
