- Faith Simpson Mader
Our wonderful mother, Faith Simpson Mader, passed away on April 9th, 2014. She was surrounded by family when she left her life here on Earth and entered the gates of heaven into the welcoming arms of her family who preceded her in death.
Faith was born in Welston, Okla., on September 13, 1932, to Reverend Wallace and Edith Bragg. She spent the first 11 years of her life in Oklahoma. The family moved to Philadelphia, Pa., where she lived until she married Don Simpson in 1954. They couple moved to Lewiston, Idaho. They were married for 25 years and had three daughters. Faith later married Winston Mader and moved to Waitsburg, Wash., then settled in Walla Walla for over 20 years. She moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 2007 where she lived for the next 2 ½ years until she returned to Pendleton, Ore., where she lived until her death.
Faith loved working and spent most of her time working as a legal secretary. She worked for the law firm of Williams & Golden in Walla Walla for many years. She also enjoyed playing the organ on Sundays at church. One of her favorite places to play was Sunday mornings at the VA Chapel in Walla Walla, Wash.
Faith is survived by her daughters, Luayne Simpson, Sherri Brown and Rhonda Protzen; four siblings, Edith Johnson, Barbara and George Smith, Leta Bragg and Stan and Cathy Bragg; sons-in-law Neil Brown and Stephan Protzen; grandchildren Garrett Brown, Joshua Brown, Jessica LeRoy, Colt Fridley, Ashley Brown, Max Protzen and Nicolas Protzen; and great-grandchildren Riley, Leora, Matilda, Eli, Adam and Hannah.
A Memorial Service for Faith will be Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 1911 S.W. Court Street in Pendleton, Ore. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following the service.
