All aboard The Polar Express

Passengers of all ages are invited to wear their pajamas and get their golden ticket punched as they climb aboard The Polar Express.

The Hood River Railroad brings the magical story to life as visitors read along as the train chugs down the tracks. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served up. Also enjoy caroling and music from The Polar Express movie.

Once the train arrives at the North Pole, Santa and his elves will climb aboard. During the return trip the elves will entertain passengers and Santa will visit with children giving each of them a special gift.

Departure times are Wednesday through Sundays at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The train depot is located at 110 Railroad Ave., Hood River. Theres a parking fee of $5 for cars, $6 for recreational vehicles and $7 for buses.

The special trips are booking through Dec. 29. The cost is $26 for adults and $18 for children ages 2-12. Children under 2 are free if sitting on a parents lap. In addition, premium seats in the lower dome and parlor are available at $36 for adults and $28 for ages 2-12. Upper dome seats are $46 and $38, which includes a special Polar Express souvenir mug.

People are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance although tickets may be available at the ticket counter beginning each day at 8 a.m. In addition, advanced reservations guarantee members of your party will be seated together.
