PENDLETON The Oregonian named InterMountain Education Service District as one of its top 15 mid-size workplaces in the state.

The 2013 award was based on employee surveys distributed earlier this year.

Survey results showed the majority of IMESD staff feel appreciated for their work and feel a part of something meaningful. In addition, most employees believe the IMESD allows them to balance home and work life and that the district is headed in the right direction.

Over the past several years, public education has experienced a significant reduction in funding, superintendent Mark Mulvihill said in a statement. IMESD has had to do more with less in order to effectively serve our schools as they grapple with increased expectations. Our staff repeatedly steps up to these challenges.
