New Geothermal Well Closer For Klamath County

Developers of geothermal energy in Southern Oregon say they will begin drilling a second geothermal well sooner rather than later.
Klamath Basin Geopower plans to begin drilling a well east of Klamath Falls by fall or early spring.
The Klamath Falls Herald and News reports that the geothermal well would be part of a larger 21-megawatt project being undertaken in the area. The developer’s first well generates about 6 megawatts.
The company estimates that each megawatt of geothermal energy should power about 1000 single-family homes.
