Lela Justine Denny, 94, died May 10, 2013, at her home in Hermiston, Oregon.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on May 17, 2013, at First Assembly of God Church in Pendleton, Oregon.

Lela Denny was born on February 22, 1919, in Haigler, Nebraska, to Edgar and Ora Caldwell. On February 22, 1935, she married Roy S. Denny in Ainsworth, Nebraska. The couple embarked on a journey to serve God and others for the next 60 years. Lela worked at her husbands side as they pastored churches in Nebraska, Colorado, Idaho and Oregon, retiring in Pendleton, Oregon, in 1975.
Lela loved cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and painting. She had a servants heart and possessed a wonderful gift of hospitality. Being entertained in her home was always a happy celebration of family and friends.
Lela was a member of First Assembly of God church in Pendleton, Oregon.
In March 2008, Lela moved to Sun Terrace Assisted Living in Hermiston, Oregon, where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her daughter, Virla Harrell (Gordon) of Longmont, Colorado; son David Denny (Bette Jo) of Hermiston, Oregon; sister Georgia Gregory of Campbell, Texas; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. R.S. Denny, and daughter FloRetta Smith.
