PHS student most valuable in state

PENDLETON The Elks National Foundation has named Pendleton High School senior Jonathan Chen most valuable male student for the state of Oregon.
Chen received a $2,700 college scholarship and will compete in the national Elks competition. Chen advanced to the state competition after winning the northeast Oregon title for his perfect SAT?scores, 4.0 GPA and community service.

Jessica Bottger, the female Eastern Oregon MVP from Elgin High School, won second place in the state competition and received a $2,200 scholarship.
National competition winners will be announced in April.
