MILTON-FREEWATER A national Latino youth speaker will be in the area to empower students to embrace their culture while staying on task for graduation.

Fabian Ramirez uses stories from his upbringing to make teenage audiences laugh and think about their future. He also makes fun of his upbringing as a way to relate and break the ice with students. Ramirez will speak at an assembly for students in Milton-Freewater and during an evening event for the public.

The evening session, presented mostly in Spanish, is Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at Central Middle School, 306 S.W. Second St., Milton-Freewater.
