He also said he hopes David Ramirez, 30, will recover from the wounds. Nelson said Ramirezs medical condition wasnt available, but family is with him at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Richland, Wash. Hospital spokesman Jim Hall said Kadlec has no information on Ramirez.

Morrow County Dispatch received several 9-1-1 calls Saturday at about 9 p.m. regarding a shooting in an apartment complex at 111 N.W. Columbia Ave., Boardman. According to law enforcement activity logs, a caller said Ramirez was shot five times and was lying on an apartment floor. Nelson said officers from the Boardman Police Department and Morrow County sheriffs deputies found Ramirez and an ambulance took him to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston. He was then transported via air ambulance to Kadlec.

The Morrow/Umatilla Major Crime Team is investigating the shooting and wants to talk to two men Alexandre Alex Perez Velasco, 21, and Angel Rodelo, 22, both of Boardman. Nelson said they were both present during the shooting.

Law enforcement is currently looking for both individuals to interview them concerning this case, Nelson said in a written statement.

Velasco also is the defendant in an brass knuckles assault case. The Morrow County District Attorneys Office accused Velasco of using the device to punch another man May 10 at a Boardman market. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. That case is pending.

A Morrow County grand jury has indicted Velasco for possession of methamphetamine in connection with the May 10 fisticuffs.

The district attorney’s office plans to arraign Velasco on the charge on Dec. 12, according to court records.

Ramirez has misdemeanor convictions from 2002-2007 for assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, according to Morrow County court records, which did not reveal any information on Rodelo.

Nelson urged anyone with information concerning the shooting or who knows the whereabouts of Velasco or Rodelo to contact the Morrow County Dispatch Center at 541-676-5317 or the Boardman Police Department at 541-481-6071.
