Holt Arraigned For Murder Of Whitney Heichel

Jonathan Holt was in court Monday on charges related to the murder last week of 21-year-old Starbucks barista Whitney Heichel.

Holt appeared briefly at Clackamas County Courthouse in Oregon City.

He was arraigned on seven counts of aggravated murder with a firearm, including kidnapping, sodomy and robbery. Holt’s being held without bail.

Holt is scheduled to be back in court on Friday.

Heichel vanished on her way to work last Tuesday, triggering a search that ended Friday with the discovery of her body on Larch Mountain.

Multnomah County Medical examiner, Doctor Christopher Young, says Heichel died from multiple gunshot wounds. He declined to release any additional results from the autopsy.

Holt was a neighbor of Whitney Heichel and her husband Clint at the Heatherwood Apartments in Gresham.

Jim Vaughn, a spokesman for the Heichel family, said in a statement that Holt was also a member of the same Jehovah’s Witness congregation as Whitney Heichel.
