Billed as the sweetest little music festival in Eastern Oregon, Juniper Jam kicks off Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds, Enterprise. The event features a full day of music, art, food, drinks and fun for kids.

The music cranks up at noon and continues to about 10 p.m. Tickets are $10, with children 6 and under admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance at www.juniperjam.com and at Wallowa County merchants, including Joseph Hardware, Lears Main Street Pub & Grill and The Bookloft, both of Enterprise.

Musical highlights include Portlands Fruition String Band, who are returning to the event by popular demand. Sharing the main stage will be the Shook Twins, which features a pair of identical twins and bassist Kyle Volkman. Newcomers to the Juniper Jam stage include Desert Noises, a young indie rock group from the Utah Valley, and Hillfolk Noir, a Boise band known for its unique brand of junkerdash music. The Union County band The Wasteland Kings will perform its folk/rock/American sound. In addition, former emcee Al MacLeod returns with his band Toobamboo. Others include Moscow, Idahos Charlie Sutton and Idlers Rest, Tom Drake with Cris Peterson, Tracy Spring from Bellingham, Wash., and Edmund Wayne, aka Curt Krause, formerly of the Moscow/Pullman band Buffalo Death Beam.

Juniper Jam is a fundraiser for the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance, whose mission is to enrich communities with music, provide music education and performances in Wallowa County.
