Pilot Rock rings in 110th birthday

PILOT?ROCK The City of Pilot Rock is celebrating its 110th birthday, along with Umatilla Countys 150th birthday on Saturday. The celebration will take place throughout the town over the course of the day.
There will be an archery shoot at the bike pit on the west end of town from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., a lumberjack competition on Main Street from noon to 4 p.m. and the Great Duck Race at 3 p.m. at the?Main Street Bridge.
The lumberjack competition will feature truck backing, chain throwing and wrapping events. Guns will be awarded to the winners.
There will be a parade at 5 p.m., which starts at the fire station. Following the parade, cake will be served downtown.
In the evening Denny Henshaw, a graduate of Pilot Rock High School, will perform with his band Severed in the beer garden.
