TUESDAY

A man in an older model red Range Rover solicited a 12-year-old girl while she was walking home Monday from school, the girls mother told police at 7:06 a.m. The mother said she got home late from work and her daughter told her Monday night. The girl told her mother the incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. at Sunand Park, 1630 W .Sunland Ave., Hermiston. A Latino male in the late 20s to early 30s stopped the vehicle and asked the girl her age, home address, phone number and if she had a boyfriend. He twice asked if she needed a ride home. The mother said she wanted to speak to an officer.

Hermiston police are on the lookout for an African gray parrot that flew from Echo. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, 4700 N.W. Pioneer Place, Pendleton, alerted Hermiston police about the bird at 9:43 a.m. The parrot answers to the name of Ash and has a large vocabulary. If you spot the bird, please contact the sheriffs office.

A caller at 3:26 p.m. told Hermiston police he found a box containing used hypodermic needles and dope baggies at Spruce Village Apartments, 625 N.W. Spruce St., Hermiston.

A Hermiston woman at 4:07 p.m. told police a large dog jumped a 6-foot-tall fence and tried tried to attack her children who were walking their 4-pound dog in the 300 block of East Sandstone Avenue. Police took her report and told the dog owner about the complaint.

Someone broke into a Boardman womans car and stole its steering wheel while she was working at Auto Zone, 1795 N. First St., Hermiston, she told Hermiston police at 4:29 p.m.

Hermiston police at 4:30 responded to a complaint about a dog attacking a cat. The caller said the neighbors dog has killed three other cats in the 100 block of Northeast Seventh Street, and the owner encourages the dog to kill cats. Officers cited the dog owner.

A Pendleton woman found her home had been ransacked and her TV and other items missing in the first block of Southeast Seventh Street, she told police at 5:48 p.m. She waited in her vehicle for an officer who took a burglary report.

A caller at 9:21 p.m. told Hermiston that two children, about 6 and 8 years old, were sitting outside for more than an hour while their parents gambled in the bar at Golden Palace, 175 S. Highway 395, Hermiston.

ARRESTS, CITATIONS

Tuesday

Pendleton police cited Austin Lindstrom, 19, 1805 southgate Place, Pendleton, for driving under influence of intoxicants (controlled substance) and possession of less than an ounce marijuana. Police gave him a ride home.

Hermiston police arrested Diego Antonio Hill, 22, of 545 N. Wayne St., Stanfield, for driving under the influence of intoxicants (controlled substance).

Hermiston police arrested Roger Lee Campbell, 39, of 440 E. Main St., Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine.
