Lori Jean Teal, 54, a lifelong Pendleton resident, died Wednesday, March 28th, 2012, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton.

Viewing will be held between noon and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012, at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 31st, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pendleton Vert Auditorium followed by interment at Olney Cemetery. Following interment there will be reception at the First Presbyterian Church in Pendleton. Contributions in memory of Lori Teal may be made to the National M.S. Lori was born February 6, 1958, in Pendleton, Oregon, to Cecil and Mary E. (Thomson) Blaine. She was raised in Pendleton, where she graduated from Pendleton High School with the class of 1976. Over the years she had worked several places, including Floyds Truck Ranch; St. Anthony Hospital, where she was a surgery technician; Home Health & Hospice as a nurse; and Arrowhead Travel Plaza as a cashier but her most fulfilling job was that of foster mother, which she had been for many years. She was passionate about helping children in her community and touched many lives in this way.

On December 7th, 1996, she married Rob Teal at the First Presbyterian Church in Pendleton. The couple made their home here in Pendleton and celebrated their fifteen years of marriage. Lori was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and also recently attended the First Assembly of God Church in Pendleton. She was a longstanding member of the local recovery community and had been instrumental in the recovery of many. She was steadfast in her support of recovering community members and was nicknamed The Hammer for her dedication to helping others achieve lifelong recovery. She volunteered at the domestic violence shelter, as she enjoyed the opportunity to stand behind those in need. She was a member of the Pendleton Eagles Lodge. Lori was a wonderful cook and loved breaking bread with others. Her hobbies also included camping, fishing and hunting. She liked to knit and made many baby blankets over the years. She was also an avid Seattle Seahawks fan. Lori Jean cherished above all the time she spent with her grandchildren attending their various activities and cheering them on.

Lori Jean is survived by her husband Rob Teal and son Jesse Dave at the home in Pendleton, son Josh Teal and wife Angie of Dayton, Wash., her brother Tom Blaine and wife Betty of Selah, Wash., sister Bonnie Blaine of Pendleton, her parents-in-law Jerry and Phyllis Teal of Walla Walla, Wash., brother-in-law Mike Stanley Jr. and wife Jerilyn of Spokane, Wash., and niece Corinna Stanley of Afghanistan, her grandchildren: Kalie Brooke Teal of Tumwater, Wash., and Natalie, Grant, Grayson and Ellie June Teal of Dayton, Wash., as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mary Blaine.
