A retired calligraphy professor from Sandy says Steve Jobs was well liked by his classmates at Reed College in the brief time he was at the school. Robert Palladino was a visiting professor of art at the college when Jobs was there. Years later, in a commencement address at Stanford University, Jobs credited Palladino’s class with  inspiring the typography Jobs designed into the Mac. Palladino recalled that after taking the class, Jobs made contact with him again.

“He introduced me to the mouse,” said Palladino. I don’t know anything about computers, and I had never seen a mouse before. He was definitely working on computers at that time.”

Jobs attended Reed, but didn’t graduate from the college. He mentioned the calligraphy class in a 2005 commencement address at Stanford.
