Archives Division to host open house

SALEM Tours of the Oregon State Archives will be available during an open house this weekend.
In celebration of Archives Month, the office will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 800 Summer St. N.E., Salem.
Guided tours will provide visitors with a chance to go behind the scenes, see the records storage area and learn more about the archives and its holdings.
Tours will last about 30 minutes and include an opportunity to see some of Oregons most significant historical documents, including the original Oregon Constitution. In addition, visitors can conduct research as additional staff will be available for assistance.
The lobby gallery will be open and is currently showing a collection of scenic photographs from around the state. In addition, a video in the lobby celebrating 100 years of the Oregon Blue Book, a publication of the Archives Division, will be shown. The 2011-12 edition and a facsimile edition of the 1911 Blue Book will be available for purchase.
