Athletes representing Eastern Oregon Gymnastics Academy in Pendleton spent two weeks in England during a cultural exchange with Malvern Hills Gymnastics Club in Malvern, England. This is the third visit by?EOGA?gymnasts to England in the last 12 years; Malvern gymnasts have made the journey to Pendleton three times as well.

The girls won the floor, vault and beam competitions, and the 11-14 and 14-and-over age groups.

Coach Gary Stanner, seven gymnasts and two parents enjoyed local homestays, spent time in local schools and took trips to London, Stratford, Weston-Super-Mare, Warwick Castle and many other local attractions during their stay from June 22-July 6, 2011.

Gymnasts making the trip were Delaney Paullus, Hailey Kendrick, Hannah Bradbury, Savannah Patrick and Corinna Cook, all of Pendleton, and Lauren and Annie Woodworth of La Grande. Parent chaperones were Christy Cook and Cheri Kendrick, both of Pendleton.

A dual gymnastics meet between the clubs was held June 26 at the Malvern Hills gym. According to Stanner, the EOGA gymnasts easily won the local competition.
