INDINAPOLIS Another banged up Brazilian topped a Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series Tour event.  Robson Palmero, competing this season with a broken ankle, was the only cowboy to turn back four bulls to win more than $46,000 in Indianapolis.

Im so happy for that, I come over here to ride my bulls and I called my wife and I was afraid to come of the crutches, because I was down to 25 (in the standings) and I told her that I needed to go and stay on my bulls to get points, Palermo said.

Palmeros decision obviously paid off with four qualified rides.

I win the first round and I was so excited and then I picked good bulls today. I am so happy for that, he said.

Palmero also had the task of dismounting the bulls without further damaging the broken ankle.

It is really sore, but you being a bull rider youre hurt all the time and you need to be tough, be a cowboy because there is nothing you can do, he said.

Palmero realizes it will take time to heal the injury and dealing with pain will be a big part of the next several weeks.

I tried to jump off the bulls on my left leg, but it never worked out as I always landed on my right leg and its really sore, he said.

After four PBR events, its been all Brazil in the winners circle, and thats something that makes Palmero very proud.

All of the guys are hot right now, he laughed. Four guys win four events and everybody is riding good right now. I feel proud and feel proud for our guys. I thank the PBR and the fans for this.

Valdiron de Oliveira won the season opener in New York and 2010 PBR World Champion Renato Nunes finished first in Sacramento while 2010 Rookie of the Year Silvano Alves was the winner last week in Anaheim, Calif.

Oliveira is back out in front in the Built Ford Tough Series season standings, following his 10th-place finish in Indianapolis. Alves was 1-for-3 in Indianapolis, and slipped into second place on the season, 97.25 points behind Oliveira. Ben Jones of Goulburn, Australia is third.

The PBR Built Ford Tough Series Tour returns to the Northwest this weekend with a stop to the Rose Garden in Portland. Action starts at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Portland will feature the top 40 riders in the world including Oregon natives Cody Campbell of Summerville, Ned Cross of Midland and Dustin Elliott of John Day.
