PENDLETON Edward Paul Eddie Crowe, 63, of Pendleton died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at his home. By his own request, a viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 in the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton chapel. Services will follow at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22 in the Pi-Nee-Waus Community Center, with burial to follow in the Nez Perce Tribal Cemetery in Lapwai, Idaho. 

Mr. Crowe was born May 23, 1947, in Orofino, Idaho, to Elmer and Hattie (Joye) Crowe. He was raised by is grandmother, Edna Howard, and close cousin Betsy Miller. He graduated from Orofino and enlisted into the Army. 

After serving in the Army he returned and began working as a long-haul truck driver for many years. His next career was working with Fish & Game, and he began his law enforcement career with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Police Department. He was stationed at Camp Verde, Ariz., and later with the Lapwai Tribal Police.

He retired from law enforcement and moved to Pendleton with his wife Julie. He was an enrolled member and elder of the CTUIR. He enjoyed working at Wildhorse Resort & Casino before retiring due to his health.

Mr. Crowe is survived by his wife of 30 years, Julie Crowe of Pendleton; children Lyman and Wendel Crowe of Pendleton; children from a previous marriage (with Barbara Schinsay) David Crowe and Eddie Jr., both of Coeur dAlene, Idaho; brothers Reggie Crowe, Raymond LaSarte and Louie LaSarte, all of Coeur d Alene, Idaho, Jeff Crowe of Kamiah, Idaho, and Elmer Crowe of Sweetwater, Idaho; sisters Joyce Admeyers and Bernie LaSarte, both of the Coeur dAlene Reservation, Elizabeth Crowe of Seattle and Brenda Moses of Plummer, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews from Oregon and Idaho. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Hattie; brother Greg Crowe; and sister Angela LaSarte James.
