School district gives OK to Outdoor School

HERMISTON – The Hermiston School District announced last week it will go forward with Outdoor?School after almost a year’s worth of discussion about ending the camp.
Outdoor School, an overnight trip for fifth-grade classes in the district’s elementary schools, presents field studies with the National Weather Service, U.S. Forest Service and Bonneville Power Administration.
The $25,000 program was in danger of discontinuation due to lack of funding before the?Walmart Distribution?Center and?Wildhorse Foundation came forward with money to keep the camp alive.
