- OBITUARY: A. Charles Rohrman
HERMISTON – A. Charles Rohrman, 74, of Hermiston died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at his home. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 10 at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston. Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Mr. Rohrman was born July 30, 1935, in Pendleton. He was raised in Hermiston, graduating from Hermiston High School with honors in 1954. He attended the University of Portland and graduated in 1959 with bachelor of science degrees in engineering and business.
In 1960 he returned to Hermiston to work for his father, A. F. Rohrman, at Rohrman Motor Company, the Ford dealership acquired by his father in 1930. He assumed sole ownership of the dealership after the death of his father in 1976. He married Angela Jo Kelly in 1963 in Williston, N.D.
He was a Port of Umatilla commissioner for two terms, and served on many community advisory boards. He co-founded the Oregon Water Coalition in 1992.
Mr. Rohrman is survived by his wife, Angela Jo of Hermiston; daughter Mary Ozkan of The Woodlands, Texas; sons Christopher of Seattle and David, Tom and Joe, all of Hermiston; sister Kayella Simons of Pendleton; seven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A. F. and Connie Rohrman.
