Letter: Where’s the EO’s coverage of ACORN controversy?

I recently read an item on your editorial page that I would like to comment on. In the article the author claimed to be a “serious journalist” who reported the “important events of the day.” It seems that “important events” are in the judgment of the reporter.

Of all the EO’s reporters, not one word has ever been reported of the scandalous activities of ACORN. Not only were they trying to pervert the outcome of our national elections, but tried to help import underage girls to be prostitutes. Then they advised how the people involved could cheat on their income taxes by claiming the girls as dependents. Such activities came to the forefront and caused many of our states to investigate ACORN’s activities. Maybe I’m over-reacting, but these affairs seem very important to me and other citizens. Are they not important enough to you or your reporters to mention? Perhaps I missed an edition or two of your paper, and maybe it was reported. If so, I apologize.

If it hadn’t been published in the EO, could it be because of the close relationship ACORN had with Obama in the past? I would like to think that your publisher would have more integrity than that. Or would he? I remember seeing a slogan used by a small town newspaper that reads “Truth without fear or favor.” Wouldn’t it be interesting to adopt that as your slogan? Maybe you should tune in to Fox News to keep up with what is going on.

It seems that there is very little on the conservative agenda that you don’t criticize, and very little on the extreme right that you do. “Truth Without Fear Or Favor.” Try it – you may like it.
