NEWPORT – Rachel A. Walker, 47, of Newport died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, in Newport. A memorial service was held Nov. 10 on the Oregon coast.

Ms. Walker was born Aug. 4, 1962, in Hermiston to Henry and Doris Walker. She was a graduate of Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande, and was a Umatilla County-area resident for 37 years.

Survivors include her brother, Wesley A. Walker of Hermiston; sisters Linda Walker of Klamath Falls and Donna Jones of Sugarland, Texas; half sister Betty Showalter of Aloha; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Doris Walker, and brother Doug Walker.

Bateman Funeral Home of Newport was in charge of arrangements.
