WALLA WALLA – V’Audrey Willoughby Hall Saxey, 91, of Milton-Freewater died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in Walla Walla. She will be buried next to her husband after a graveside service at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9. In case of inclement weather, services will be moved to the Munselle Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater.
Mrs. Saxey was born Feb. 7, 1918, in Boise, Idaho, to George Willoughby Hall and Helena Amelia Gregory Hall. In 1939 she married Edward Saxey in Portland.
She worked a variety of jobs over the years including proofreader, oral surgeon’s assistant, secretary, office manager, plastic lens fabricator, and typist. She and her husband raised top-winning German Shepherds during the 1950s and early 1960s under the name of Haus Sachse Kennels in Sunnyside, Wash.
Mrs. Saxey is survived by sons Edward Saxey II of Camarillo, Calif., Wayne Saxey of Milton-Freewater and Dr. Roderick Saxey of Puyallup, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward Saxey; brother Hal Hall; and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mt. Humane Society or the LDS Missionary Fund in care of the funeral home.
