Anniversary: Joe and Bonna Rae Miller

Joe and Bonna Rae Miller will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at an open house buffet reception in their honor at the Heppner Elks Club. The couple requests no gifts.

Joe and Bonna Rae were married June 27, 1959, at the Methodist Church in Lebanon. The couple lived in Portland, where Joe worked for Hyster Company at R&D Technical Center and Bonna Rae worked at Mayflower Milk Co. After they started a family, the couple lived in the Gresham area, where Bonna Rae was a stay-at-home mom. In 1977, the couple moved to Heppner and started a welding repair business, which became an excavating business that is now operated by their youngest son.

The Millers have three sons. Reid and his wife Sheila (Seiler) Miller live in Lexington with their children Josie and Jarried. Ray and his wife Debbie (Marquardt) Miller live in Idaho Falls. They have three children: Roxy and her husband, Chris Strahm, and their children Parker and Pyper; Kyle and his wife Bethanie; and Carl Miller. Ryan, his wife Sharon and their son Tyler live in Heppner.
