LAS VEGAS – Former Heppner and Ione resident Richard Ray “Rick” Boyce, 55, of Tigard died Thursday, May 7, 2009, while visiting in Las Vegas, Nev. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23 at the United Methodist Church in Heppner.

Mr. Boyce was born Nov. 11, 1953, in Heppner to Ray and Lillian Hubbard Boyce. He was raised in Ione and Heppner, graduating from Heppner High School in 1971. He attended Blue Mountain Community College and earned a graduate degree from the University of Oregon. He became a certified public accountant and worked in The Dalles and Portland, and most recently was self-employed as a CPA and resided in Tigard. He was divorced and had no children.

Survivors include his mother, Lillian Boyce of Heppner; sister Barbara Stillman of Boring; brother Jim Boyce of Heppner; aunts Peggy Connor of Heppner and Vi Damron of Wilsonville; uncle Bob Hubbard of Ione; and two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Boyce, in 1986.
