COLLEGE PLACE – Arvle Bryan Cable, 87, of Walla Walla died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Regency at the Park in College Place. At his request there will be no funeral, and private interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in College Place.
Mr. Cable was born Feb. 3, 1922, in Lake City, Ark., to Jess Bryan and Minnie Lee Brice Cable. He grew up and attended school in the Lake City area. After graduation he joined the Army in 1942, serving during World War II. He served in the Army Signal Corps overseas for 38 months. He was discharged from the military in 1945. He received the World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

In 1950 he married Flossie Mackey in Las Vegas, Nev. He worked 35 years for frozen food plants as a packaging mechanic. He retired from National Fruit Canning Company in Albany in 1985 and the couple moved to Walla Walla in 1986.
Mr. Cable is survived by his wife, Flossie Cable, at their home; sons Wesley Cable of Sumner, Wash., Ronald Cable and Donald Cable, both of Spokane and Gary Cable of Walla Walla; sisters Inez O’Hair of Vancouver, Wash., Mildred Hutton of Walnut Creek, Calif., Linda Smart of Medford, and Shirley Tetrick and Helen Williamson, both of Fresno, Calif.; brother Gene Cable of Monett, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sons Larry and Les Cable; brothers Raymond Cable, Bob Cable and Carl Cable; and sister Gaynell Cable.
