NAMPA, Idaho – Former Pilot Rock resident Rachel Garnet Wunder Webb, 95, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at her home in Nampa, Idaho. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Gray’s West & Company Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation hours will begin at 10 a.m. the morning of the service.

Mrs. Webb was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Baker City to Herbert William and Ethel Llewelln (Baldock) Riley. She attended school at the St. Francis Academy.

She not only was a homemaker and pastor’s wife, but also earned the Esther Award in Assembly of God Missionettes Program and received her license to preach in the 1950s. She continued her service as a Sunday School teacher and choir director, taught Vacation Bible School and worked with the Visitation Outreach program.

She married Herman Webb in 2001 in Pilot Rock. They were married almost six years before he died in 2007.

Mrs. Webb is survived by daughters Dolores McGill of Pilot Rock and Linda Wall of Baker City; son Ray Wunder of Nampa, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ethel Riley; sister Lora Jensen; brother Billie Riley; and husbands Alva Wunder, R.J. Beagley and Herman Webb.
