LIBBY, Mont. – Alice May Olbekson, 72, of Libby, Mont., died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at her home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the Church of God in Libby, Mont.
Mrs. Olbekson was born May 3, 1936, in Libby, Mont., to Arthur and Fannie May Martin. She was raised and educated in Libby. She crossed the creek and moved three blocks from her place of birth to her final resting place.
She married Loren Olbekson in 1954 at the Church of God in Libby. She worked as a florist for several years. She loved to travel, play the piano and sing. She was a lifelong member of the Church of God and played the piano there for many years. She was well known around town as the bag lady. She loved her family very much, and had a hug for everyone she met.
Mrs. Olbekson is survived by her husband, Loren Olbekson of Libby, Mont.; daughters Lois Olbekson of Libby, Mont.; Lorene Smith of Hermiston; brother Dwaine Martin of Helena, Mont.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
