Leonard Charles Fuller

PORTLAND – Former Athena resident Leonard Charles Fuller, 86, of Portland died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Payette, Idaho.

Mr. Fuller was born on June 2, 1921, to John G. and Fairzina (Evans) Fuller in Richland, Ore. After graduation, he worked in farming and construction. He entered the Army in 1942, serving during World War II, and after his honorable discharge he resided in Payette, Idaho and in the Ontario area.

It was while living there that he met and later married Phyllis Dunbrasky in 1949 in Vale. Together the couple raised seven children, moving to Northeast Oregon in 1957. He worked in construction and for the Salvation Army before going to work for Lamb-Weston in their maintenance department, where he remained until retirement.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, working on cars, and most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include children Elizabeth Partridge and Phyllis Ann Fisher, both of Portland, Carol Sackett of Athena, Phil Fuller of Salem, Steve Fuller of Reno, Nev., and Randy and Robert Fuller, both of Portland; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Phyllis Fuller; three brothers; and two sisters.
