RICHLAND, Wash. – Lance Charles Swanson died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Wash.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. today in the Let ‘er Buck Room in Pendleton. An Indian dressing ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Washat will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Longhouse and a morning service will be held at 7 a.m. Tuesday also at the Longhouse. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Tutuilla Presbyterian Church and burial will follow at Agency Cemetery.

Mr. Swanson was born Nov. 29, 1952, to Robert L. and Helen Proebstel Swanson in Pendleton. He later worked for the Umatilla County Road Department and farmed in the Pendleton area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding and raising horses, and teaching his daughters how to ride horses. He married Pamela Shippentower on Sept. 8, 2002, and loved his stepchildren. He was a very giving man and if anyone needed his help, he would be there for them.

He is survived by his wife; parents; children Sunny Swanson Kelly, Samantha and Ryan Gallagher and Billy Jo and Duff Sinclair; sisters Marsha Swanson and Shelley and DeWayne Dunlap; brother Rod Swanson; stepsons Wade and Wilo Graham; six grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
