PENDLETON – Vivian Christina Sauter, who traveled to many countries, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007. She was 92. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bishop Funeral Chapel. Burial will be follow at Olney Cemetery.

Mrs. Sauter was born Sept. 23, 1914, in Pendleton, to Robert and Leelia Goad. She lived in Pendleton until she married Herbert Sauter.

They lived in Baker where they owned a distribution business and Mrs. Sauter worked as a beauty operator.?In the early 1950s, Mr. Sauter joined the U.S. Navy.

They lived in the Philippines, Morocco, Spain and near Niagara Falls in New York.

They also visited China, India, and Thailand. Mrs. Sauter returned to Pendleton and owned a beauty shop before retiring.

She is survived by a sister-in-law; three nephews; a grandniece and nephews; and a great-grandniece and nephews.?She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister Gladys Goad; and brother Gene Goad.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Hospice in care of Bishop Funeral Chapel.Bishop Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
