The McKay Creek Elementary School Parents’ Club Pie socail was another success. Hundreds of people came to enjoy the swetts and games, Kelli Bieker reported. She said McKay families brought about 250 pies and cakes for the social.

An astounding 128 items were donated for the raffle. Bieker said that businesses who really stepped up and helped were Armchair Books, BI Mart, the Chamber of Commerce, Char Burger, Children’s Museum, Columbia River Bank, Dairy Queen, Dean’s Athletic, Dennis Turner, the East Oregonian, Farm Equipment Headquarters, Great Pacific, J& P Auto, McLaughlin’s, Mid-columbia Bus, Pap Murphy’s Pendleton Book Company, Pendleton Music House, Pendleton Round-Up, Pendleton Veterinary Clinci, Rite-Aid, Safeway, St. Anthony Hospital, Sunshine Gourmet Shopee, Wal-Mart, Woman to Woman, Coke, Sen. Gordon Smith, Portland State University, Big John’s Pizza, Wells Fargo Bank, Pendleton Grain Growers, Jump Start Espresso, Pendleton Ford, Quizno’s, Hamley’s, N.W. Bieker said the money made will continue to support the many programs at the school including Reading is Fundamental, Family Reading Night, field trips and assemblies.
