Mackley was recognized for her efforts in coordinating the 2006 Union Harvest Festival. The event is held in Union each October and includes a haunted house in the old Union Hotel, a parade and a costume ball.

“It’s a month-long festival,” Loudermilk said.

Past award winners have recognized recipients who developed a playground project and coordinating a food harvest in the fall.

Other award winners included Clay Scott, Man of the Year; Di Lyn Larson-Hill, Woman of the Year; Doug Hislop, Educator of the Year; Lena McCellan and Thomas Stratton, Young Leaders of the Year; and Robert and Judy Jensen of The Potters House, Business of the Year.

“It’s a very attractive and unique gift store including pottery, paintings and other artists work,” Loudermilk said.
