Mr. and Mrs. Smith” is the much-talked-about movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Pitt and Jolie each play contract killers who fall in love, settle down, get married and move to the suburbs. We meet them at a marriage counseling session. Their marriage is on the rocks because they continually have to lie to each other in order to conceal their true identities.

Their cover and secret identities are exposed during a job and they learn that in order to survive they must get rid of each other.
The movie is a combination of action and comedy. The action is fast-paced and completely improbable and the comedy is full of dry wit.
I was surprised by how violent the film was and how nonchalantly it treated death. The other surprise was that I really enjoyed the job Vince Vaughn did in the movie as Pitt’s comedic sidekick. He plays basically the same role he has since “Swingers” but he has the best lines in the movie and he steals any scene in which he is involved.
I think the best way to describe this movie is one that is most enjoyable if you are prepared to sit down and turn off your brain for two hours. It is entertaining and funny but completely ridiculous at the same time.
There never seem to be any police involved, even when buildings and cars are being blown up. Also, the “bad guys” in this movie should receive some sort of award for being the worst shots of any action picture I have ever seen. Still, it’s a fairly entertaining film with some new twists on old plot lines.
