Health Tip of the Week: What type of water bottle is best?

There has been recent debate about the safety of plastic bottles and concerns that toxic chemicals may leach out of plastics into beverages. While the debate rages on, most experts agree it is safest to drink out of plastic bottles labeled No. 2, No. 4 or No.5 (look for the number on the bottom of the bottle). Better yet, ceramic mugs, stainless steel coffee cups and old-fashioned glass are definitely safe. Frequent washing with warm, soapy water is a good idea, no matter what type of container you’re drinking from.
