The children of Patricia Weise Miller of Pendleton and of Robert C. Anders announce their parents’ engagement.

Miller is the mother of Janelle Gau, Joy Miller and Will Miller of Pendleton and of Deborah Cox of Portland. Miller, a longtime Pendleton resident, is retired from Eastern Oregon Psychiatric Center. She volunteers at the Pendleton Pregnancy Care Center, the Red Cross and Child Evangelism Fellowship.

Anders is the father of Tim and Tom Anders and of Tracy Kinasz, all of Portland. A retired United Airlines pilot, he also worked for Pendleton Bus Company and now works for Raz Bus in Portland. His mother, Shirley Anders, lives in Pendleton.

Anders proposed Sept. 4, 2004, on a cruise to Alaska.

The couple plans a 3:30 p.m. March 12, 2005, wedding at the Pendleton Free Methodist Church.
