Sentences

PENDLETON – The following sentences have been imposed in Umatilla County courts:

Joseph C. Cyr, 20, 1074 W. Orchard, Hermiston, pleaded guilty on an August 2003 incident involving unlawful possession of a destructive device and was placed on probation for two years, was ordered to pay $4,874 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 160 hours community service work. Cyr pleaded not guilty to unlawful manufacture of a destructive device and the charge was dismissed.

Tod A. Sams, 23, 320 N.W. Seventh, Milton-Freewater, pleaded guilty on an April incident involving first degree theft and was placed on probation for 18 months, was assigned 90 custody units, assigned 30 jail units and was ordered to pay $1,069 in restitution and $2,166 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. Sams pleaded not guilty of first degree burglary and the charge was dismissed.

Steven R. Brown, 20, 138 El Monte, Umatilla, pleaded guilty on an October 2003 incident involving motor vehicle theft and was placed on probation for two years, assigned 120 custody units, assigned 60 jail units, was ordered to pay $1,166 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. Brown pleaded guilty to attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle and was placed on probation for 18 months, assigned 90 custody units, assigned 30 jail units and was ordered to pay $1,166 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. He pleaded not guilty to attempting to elude a police officer, pleaded not guilty to second degree theft, pleaded not guilty to reckless driving, and pleaded not guilty to failure to perform the duties of a driver in an accident and the charges were dismissed.

Abram Ramirez, 24, 80433 Alpine Drive, Hermiston, pleaded no contest on a March incident involving attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle and was placed on probation for 18 months, assigned 90 custody units, assigned 30 jail units and was ordered to pay $1,166 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. Ramirez pleaded not guilty to reckless driving and the charge was dismissed.

Martin E. Brunette, 41, 1500 S.E. Byers, Pendleton, pleaded guilty on a March incident involving manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and was placed on probation for 24 months, assigned 120 custody units, assigned 60 jail units, was ordered to pay $916 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. Brunette pleaded guilty to possession of a precursor substance, pseudoephedrine, and was placed on probation for 36 months, assigned 180 custody units, assigned 90 jail units, was ordered to pay $916 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. He pleaded not guilty on a second count of manufacture/delivery of methamphetamine, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine, pleaded not guilty to frequenting a place where controlled substances were used and the charges were dismissed.

Ryan J. Tremblay, 25, 360 E. Carter, Hermiston, pleaded guilty on a May 2003 incident involving manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, and was placed on probation for 24 months, assigned 120 custody units, assigned 60 jail units, was ordered to pay $664 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. Tremblay pleaded guilty on three counts of child neglect and was placed on probation for 24 months, assigned 120 custody units, assigned 60 jail units, was ordered to pay $664 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. Tremblay pleaded not guilty on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and pleaded not guilty on three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and the charges were dismissed.

Shawn A. Long, 37, 429 N. Hunt, Athena, pleaded guilty on a March incident involving manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, and was placed on probation for 24 months, assigned 120 custody units, assigned 60 jail units, was ordered to pay $1,416 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. Long pleaded not guilty to third degree theft and the charges were dismissed.

Jacob M. Gonsalves, 21, 1911 S.W. 44th, Pendleton, was convicted on a January 2002 incident involving possession of marijuana, and was placed on probation for 18 months, assigned 60 custody units, assigned 25 custody units and was ordered to pay $1,164 in fine and assessment fees and assigned five custody units community service work.

Brady G. Collinsworth, 32, Wheeler, pleaded guilty on two separate November 2003 incidents involving possession of a controlled substance, and was placed on probation for 18 months on each count, assigned 90 custody units on each count, assigned 30 jail units on each count, and was ordered to pay $1,916 in fine and assessment fees on the first count, was ordered to pay $1,166 in fine and assessment fees on the second count and assigned 80 hours community service work on the first count. Collinsworth pleaded not guilty on an additional count of possession of a controlled substance and the charge was dismissed.

Brown, 34, 310 N.W. 13th, Hermiston, pleaded guilty on a February incident involving possession of a controlled substance, and was placed on probation for 18 months, assigned 90 custody units, assigned 30 jail units, was ordered to pay $1,416 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work.

Trent B. Moses, 33, 2000 E. Airport road, Hermiston, pleaded guilty on a December 2003 incident involving possession of a controlled substance, and was placed on probation for 18 months, assigned 90 custody units, assigned 30 jail units, was ordered to pay $1,416 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work.

No judgment was entered and conditional discharge was allowed for Eric S. Arbogast, 24, Oregon City, on an October 2002 incident involving possession of methamphetamine, and he was placed on probation for 18 months, assigned 90 custody units, assigned 30 custody units and was ordered to pay $1,404 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work.

David R. Miller, 53, Pendleton, pleaded guilty on a July incident involving driving under the influence of intoxicants and was sentenced to 60 days jail, placed on probation for two years, was ordered to pay $1,786 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work.

Lewis W. Wilson, 29, Pendleton, pleaded guilty on a July incident involving driving under the influence of intoxicants and was placed on probation for two years, was ordered to pay $1,286 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work.

Ladd A. Vandecar, 51, 81570 W. Eighth Road, Irrigon, pleaded guilty on a June 2003 incident involving driving under the influence of intoxicants and was sentenced to 30 days jail, placed on probation for two years, was ordered to pay $1,284 in fine and assessment fees and assigned 80 hours community service work. Vandecar pleaded not guilty on three counts of recklessly endangering another and the charges were dismissed.
