PENDLETON – Shirley Hopper, Division 80 lieutenant governor for the Pacific Northwest District of Kiwanis International, recently recognized the Pendleton Kiwanis Noon Club as a Kiwanis International Foundation Honor Club and presented it with an Honor Club banner.

To be eligible for honor club recognition, a club with 31 or more members must have a minimum total of George F. Hixson Fellowship members (requiring a $1,000 donation to the Foundation’s endowment), Tablet of Honor recipients (requiring a $2,000 donation), and/or Heritage Society members equal to one-third of the club’s membership.

The Pendleton Kiwanis Noon Club has 13 members as George F. Hixson recipients and one member as a Table of Honor recipient.

The Kiwanis International Foundation created the Honor Club Banner Recognition program in 1997 to recognize clubs that excel in supporting the Foundation’s endowment.

Only 18 of the 413 clubs in the seven states and provinces of the Pacific Northwest District have qualified for the honor.
