Disturbing but also entertaining

“Saw” is, without a doubt, the single most disturbing film I have ever seen, and let me tell you I’ve seen a lot of twisted films.

Rob Zombie’s “House of 1,000 corpses” is one of my all time favorite movies, yet “Saw” dwarfs that film, and all the others.

Since I am a horror-fan, I would say that I was certainly “entertained” by this film, but I can’t say for sure, if I actually “loved” it. It started messing with my head, because after the film, I was a little uneasy about using the ladies’ room, as the main setting for this film was in arguably the most disgusting bathroom ever put on the planet. (Even worse than the famously horrible bathroom in “Train- spotting.”)

“Saw” is about a horrible, sick, would-be serial killer who, rather than killing his victims himself, gets other victims to do it for him. The plot is consistent, and is not too hard to follow. The acting, as well as some of the dialog, gets a little “cheesy” at times, but the twist at the end – which even I didn’t see coming – more than makes up for it.

I can’t really say that this is a good movie. It was a good horror movie, though.

“Saw” actually may be the best horror film of all time. Don’t see it unless you are a horror-movie fan. It will give you nightmares.
